Hey Guys,
This is an odd problem I've been having for the past several weeks. Both of my drives in my HTPC have the bad habit of sticking closed. I've been using a little nail to push the release and force them open but I'd prefer to fix the root problem if possible. The interesting bit to this problem is that once a disc is in the drive it will open and close fine with no issues at all. I'm almost tempted to keep a blank CD handy to keep in the drive when I'm not using it to ensure it will open when I need it to...
Is there something I can use to lubricate the mechanism?

If you eject the drive from within the Operating System does it act the same way? or is it just with the physical button?

It acts the same way if I try to eject from within the OS.
I should also mention that this seems to be a seasonal issue that I have had before during the winter months. Not sure why that would have any affect though as I generally keep the room at +50 degrees.
