How about taking out a Cine 9 in the summer...which had covered just 200 hours in 5 years!
Wait...before I go on..quick version of what's been happening..as some..or indeed many of you may know, I used to work for Henry (CRTProjectors)..until two years ago..when I left (big whoo hoo) and now do my own thing...don't worry..not gonna say the name or push it on here....anyway....
Got your interest as an opening story?
My close frined Billy..(close in both friendship..and proximty....he lives a few hundred yards away)..has a Cine 9, which he has had maybe 6 years..it develpoed problems a couple of years back...but as Billy is friendly with Henry..I was not allowed (sadly) to step in and assist..
He was without it for 6 months...purchased one new board (£1,800 GBP...Trade) in the hope it would fix it...it ended up with more probs than it started with....and so..because of costs...it finally sat on his lounge floor.....
Ok I'm off to Bed now...part two sometime next week......

Ha ha...just kidding you...I shall continue..
Anyway...so there it sat..Billy skint..having spent a pile of cash on it (not just that one board) ...but..having paid over £15k for it plus the trade in of his ex 1209..some 5-6 years previous..he felt compelled not to abandon it....
So..I had a real HOT G808s here...but withPanny tubes... with high Bandwidth RGB amps (neck Boards as you guy's call em')...Contrast modulation..GOG..HDTV/Tri level Sync board...yada yada yada....
I hooked him up with that..and told him..Billy...wait..in time we will see another Cine 9..and will give yours life again....
What we kind of needed..was a running unit...with burnt tubes...so we could plug and play boards to find the exact problem..in fact..problems in more than one area..but we would have to play the waiting game....

Oh alrighty...you all twisted my arm..in Truth..had to spend a few mins with SWMBO..and have a 'Cup O' Tea' yeah..another..
Ok..so a waiting game then....a while ticked by...maybe 6 months..and another Cine 9 came up for purchase...another customer from Henry's CRTprojectors day's...but this time..it wasn't a running unit...it too had problems...and on top of all this..we had fitted a second set of tubes some 3 years before...and now these also were toasty Brown!
So...what to do...Cine 9's are as frequent as Halley's comet...yet what good was this?...and the guy still didnt want Chicken Feed for it either...what guy would? having spent nearly £30k GBP on sometinhg maybe 5 years before?
Tubes are no good for spares...and not a running unit...to enable to find the boards (Boards) fault....for Billy's sake..this time...we had to pass on it. So another appeared...not so long after the above mentioned unit...similar hours to Billy's..around 5,000..but the price was more than the Hours...and his pockets were getting empty again.....I knew the unit however...guess I got to play/install/tweak a large part (but by no means all) of the Cine 9's in the UK.
