I have a Sony BDP S1. The original flagship blue ray player. Mine is in MINT condition. Its solid as a rock and works well.
However, I don't use it. I have a PS3 and it's just collecting dust. I did a search of completed e-bay sales and it looks like the most i could get is 150.00.

To me it's worth more than that. Its a great sounding CD player as well....

Should i sell???

also... w the latest firmware upgrade it does Dolby true HD and digital audio plus......

I dunno...

I loved that thing... It was like the first HD-DVD players... Nice metal and aluminum, solid build quality... So much now is all such cheap, plastic-y, junky looking crap...

Personally, if I had one and I could only get $150 for it, I'd just keep it. That's what I'm doing with my Toshiba XA1... It's worth so little, there's no reason to get rid of it.

Or, sell it and use the money to buy something that you will use.

Its only going down in value and of no use if it's only sitting in a closet.

Really, the only reason to keep something that you dont use is sentimental value or rarity and will increase in value as time passes.

Buy a toy you will use! Very Happy

My only complaint about it, is its a little slow... and the firmware updates have helped that. Otherwise its a great b/r player.
It's a beautiful piece of kit. Solidly built . Heavy.

And like i said... it's probably one of the best CD players you can find in that price range. by that i mean the original price.

I think i'm gonna keep it. It's a grownups b/r player...

I just bought an Oppo BDP-93 to replace my S1 (had since late 2006). I'm inclined to keep it for the reasons you mentioned. It's a reliable, albeit basic unit and I'd be lucky to break even after the E-bay/Paypal rape.

IMHO, it's also one of the most gorgeous components every made.
