Wow, a YOU SUCK really is in order! $500 for a G90!?!?? Unbelievable.
Road trip! I'd certainly drive 10 hours for a $500 G90!
Congrats, Doc!
Cheers,
SC

I just scored a minty 1292 for 200 bucks. It works perfectly as far as I can tell so far. The CRTs are bright and sharp and NO WEAR.
HD-10F lenses, and the only issue is a small coolant leak in the blue assembly. It was hung from the ceiling (I got the complete mount, too) so there was no glycol leak into the chassis.
I pick it up tomorrow.

That is a pretty good deal. It looks like the tubes might be burned, but still a good back up.

Right in my backyard. I keep an eye out on CL for deals like this but have not bothered with sites like Videogon. I figured people posting on there would know what they had.

Someone snagged a 1209s on eBay for $541 today. $500 was more than I wanted to pay for it in unknown shape and at least a bad quadrupler, so I passed. Thing is, it's a 1209s, not a 1209.

And this was local too... Dammit.
Almost as good as the $200 G90 with 'issues' that sold on CL in Austin around Christmas. Was that you Curt?

Well the customer that got the 1209s in Ca called and wants to buy a quadrupler.
In 'I SUCK', I got my VX3 3 chip Runco DLP in the truck and through customs today. Damn, that beast gives an NEC XG a run for the money as to size and weight. Once it's on the bench, I'll start another thread.
Also, I picked up about 35 IBM Thinkpads today, many with chargers. A corporate dumping. I gotta say, IBM did nothing to make their laptops look 'cool', but these are loaded with XP, so they should be good for something. I'm guessing the HDs are missing, but the batteries are there, and they seem to be in good shape otherwise. I'll throw a hard drive in and will see what they do.

What model of ThinkPad are they, Curt? That was our corporate standard-issue notebook for years... Yeah, they're pretty ugly - but, they're durable as hell, and we always had pretty good luck with them, save for a few bad T30's.

OK, am I missing something? How can they be "loaded with XP" if they are missing "HD's"?

It is on the ROM chip. Oh wait I have another one. Windows is so bad that it sticks around like a bad smell even after the HD is gone.

Sorry, computer tech newbie typo. What I meant was that the units are designed for XP, not Win 2000, 98 or 95.
They are pretty old machines. Analogrocks looked up the specs when he called to rid me of some of the computers. I told him a stern NO since they were digital, not analog.
I've checked 4 of them so far. Something like 1.2 gig processing speed, a couple are without memory, a couple have 1 or 2 128M memory in them, hard drives gone, they came with 20 gig drives originally. One has been robbed of everything save for the screen, one fires up but stalls when it detects no hard drive. I have about 20 AC adapters for them.
I think what I'll do is put them on eBay in pairs, at $10 no reserve. I'll list 2-3 lots at a time. I've got a couple of Dell INspirons in there as well, but htey have everything removed as well.
Gotta get out the laptops to get at the Runco 3 chipper DLP..

If they show as having no memory in the bios, check them physically too because the actual dim slots have an issue with the pins lifting from the pads, a VERY easy fix for a guy like you.

thanks for the info, but other than firing each one up, I'm not doing anything to these. I'll start to list them on eBay at $10 no reserve for pairs. I'll hang onto two of them as parts units, as I'm sure I'll get more in down the road, but other than dedicated units for some old control program, I don't think these are worth hanging onto.
