So it's a nice brisk day out, and I decided that I wanted to go target shooting this afternoon outdoors. A buddy of mine has property, and doesn't mind us bringing stuff to shoot at.
I have been storing my HD8 lenses for a few years now since picking up my 8500. It is now a 9500, and I no longer need these lenses......so I decided to see what a .45 caliber bullet will do to them
Any objections? These are mint lenses, so a tear is in my eye, but I would rather them go out with a bang (no pun intended) than me just pitching them in the trash.
Speak now, dead men walking...
By the way, I promise to post aftermath pictures for those interested.

Well, at least they won't die in vain.

Take them apart and use the larger convex lenses as fire starters. Burn ant colonies to ashes with them!
I'm about to pitch eight HD-215s.
A couple of weeks ago I disassembled two sets of HD-144s and recycled the aluminum housing parts for cash.
I have two great condition sets of HD-10s sitting there waiting for...something. Anyone want a set?
I do have a use for my set of GT17s, though. They go on 9500LC #2 when I finish building it. #1 got HD-10Fs.

It's a sad day in CRT-ville when HD144's (hopefully not tinted!) get sold for scrap...

No, they were not tinted. I couldn't GIVE them away. They were the ultra short throw variant made for RPTV applications.
I now have a completely useless excellent condition spare set of standard HD-10s. Two sets of HD-8Bs and one set is certainly surplus to my needs.
Since I just picked up a 1292 for very little money, I now have two sets of HD-10Fs. If I should choose to strip the 1292, which I think
i will NOT be doing, then the Fs will go on my second Marquee chassis which in the future will get built up as my second 9500LC,
and then both will have Fs. This leaves me with a surplus set of GT17s which I've offered to a friend. And now it gets complicated
because he already has 2 GT17s and was looking for a third. So what would make up the last lens? Why, my one extra HD-10F,
I suppose. (Yeah, I have an extra F. For a total of seven lenses.)
So how many lenses do I have? Five HD-10 series sets, two HD-8B sets, and some DLP lenses, one of which I turned into an
extremely nice compact refractor telescope.
It's easier for me to toss CRTs or even complete lesser model projectors than it is for me to toss good lenses.
