|
|
I just received my port 3 cable and hooked up my Barco 1209 to it and didn’t get any image. I tried both with and without moome v.3, but still no image. I get the messages “warning no input signal” and the one that I should choose/select source or something…. I pressed button 3 on my RCU but nothing happens.
If I go to port 5 I get an image. I heard that the 1209:s have better image quality through port 3, but that the cards sometimes are removed for cooling purposes. I don’t know which card that could be but everything seems to be there. Is there somebody here that knows what the problem is?
Best regards

Where did you get the port 3 cable ? It is wired a bit different for the Barco port 3. A cable from an HD fury should work fine.

Hi,
Maybe the port 3 card is missing in your projector. Apparently quite a few Barco have their Port 3 card missing as it is not needed if you use port 5.

It will be the only blank slot in the card cage if it's missing. You can have one for the cost of shipping if you need one, I've got dozens.

I would not be too worried about using port 5. I have tried both and never been able to tell the difference.

I got the cable from blue jean and sent them this http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco_Port3_Input.shtm so they wired it after that. I have dealt with blue jean before and know that they have really good quality products so I don’t think there`s any issues with the cable. Actually I found out that there is a card missing from the card slot somewhere in the middle. I’ll try to attach an image.
If that’s the port 3 card then I’m going to need one so I will contact Mr Palme for sending details. One question though I have an old BD 808 in my basement and maybe there is a port card there, if so is it compatible with the 1209?
Best regards

Port3 card seem to be missing.
808 use same R7621055 card, it's that only one with one mother board connector.
You have to connect also that yellow wire to switcher board J3 connector, it's that only empty one...

As Ile told you, you definitely not have port3 card installed. Use one coming from BD808..it will work.
If you will use moome V.3 in the chain.....you will get the same wrapping edge defect as you have with port5. Port3 cable don't solve this, but it's the solution to get image from your HTPC without using Powerstrip. Port3 accept either negative or positive signals.

1209S image is definitely better with port5
1209 image is usually better with port3
you have a 1209 so using port3 you will not have any degradation on image.... probably it will better, but not worst.

Thanks for your help, it worked. I can’t tell if the image is better through port 3 yet, but I noticed that it was much brighter, and that it was way out to the left. So far that it couldn’t be fixed with the moome`s h-shift- I guess I will have to make a new setup.
Best regards

With older switcher boards PQ is pretty same from both ports, because both cards have similar circuit with similar components.

Hi,
If you picture is much brighter on port 3 than port 5 it is probably because you have the "Green_In_Blue" switched on. The switch is located toward the top middle section of the card. Check that is is OFF. This option was for graphics use where brightness is more important than color accuracy. In Home cinema use it will just make color calibration impossible.

Sorry my mistake I thought he was refering to a 1209s, I guess when he wrote 1209:s it meant 1209's not 1209s. Yes I have the newest boards which I've modified to the hilt.
