First, thanks to this forum for all the excellent information it has provided me with. The "Calibration for Dummies" thread is the BEST and only easily-understandable guide to grayscale calibration I have been able to find on the net.

My Z3 LCD front projector has a gamma setting, as well as seperate red, blue and green gamma settings. Using HCFR and a spyder2 optical sensor, can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to calibrate gamma? I know the grayscale calibration thread has some stuff about gamma but it doesn't really offer step-by-step instructions on how to set it ...

Thanks for any and all input!

I thought it did! Wink

Do a complete set of measurements and look at the gamma graph. Adjust it up if it's low, adjust it down if it's too high. If it's above in some spots and below in others, you'll need some form of paramtric (multi-point) gamma adjustment to fix it. Some advanced displays offer this. No idea if your projector does. Another option is something like a DVDO Duo or Radiance video processor. Both offer advanced gamma adjustment.

Good luck!

No problems! Take a set of readings and post your gamma graph. We'll go from there!

Hi there,

I'm really so sorry to hijack someone else's thread, but I'm having pretty much the same gamma problems with an LG 42LD550.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
