|
|
Hello.
I need to know if it is possible to put 1209 tubes in a 1209s? The tubes in the 1209s are toasted but the housings are usable.
The 1209 tubes are in their housing too. I believe that a housing swap is necessary if I want shiempflugs... But I am not sure that non Lugs will fit in a 1209s.
Thx for your help.

They should fit just fine. You will need to swap the housings and buy some fresh glycol. Also let the new silicone sealant cure for about a week before putting in the glycol.

That's what i thought.
But last time i retubed a 1209s with new LUG"s, I had to do a pin-out modification to the tubes.

Thanks for the answers guys.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough...
On one side : One working 1209s with toasted Lugs
On the other side : One non-working 1209 with perfect tubes (non Lugs).
The idea : installing the tubes from the 1209 into the 1209s.
If I understand well, Tom says it is possible. What needs to be done is : Taking out the toasted Lugs from the 1209s housing, then install the 1209 tubes in these 1209s housing, then installing them in the 1209s.
Am I correct ?

Thx Tromatus.
That is correct, tubes in the 1209 non"S" are P19LCP07. So can they be installed in the 1209s providing that we swap housings?

I think yes, i know that 1209s chassis is the same of 1209 (non s) and 1209s neckboards could be compatible with p19lcp's.

The P19LCP07 should work fine with no modification to the neck boards.
