3 slices, well done!
You think this might have a little tube life left?
This chassis is newer, and has lower hours on it than the chassis my 9500LC is built on, so I'm going to swap
the tubes and mods into this chassis. It looks like I'll soon end up with two 9500LCs, both with pristine
tubes, and I'm considering the possibility of stacking or blending them. A blend would require me to totally rethink my
room layout. It's a small room and I'd have to remove the electronics rack from the rear wall, which sits beside
the current screen. Maybe it's time to strip down the electronics to just what I actually use a lot. I don't think
my LD player has been powered up in three or four years. But it looks so nice in the rack!

Hey, I proudly gave CM that set!
It came from a surplus seller that said they were in 'great' shape. Go figure.
The remainder of the 7 sets came to me. Roadway in their infinite wisdom stacked the bubble wrapped pallets, and the three projectors on the bottom got trashed. I filed a claim with Freightquote. A month later, Roadway denied the claim, saying that the sender stacked them. bull****! Small claims suit pending here, depending if I as a Canadian can file in US small claims.

Clearly not. I watch porn exclusively in widescreen on BluRay.

Well, yeah, IF you can discount TUBE CONDITION, then yes, the rest of the set is in fact in great shape. Impressively so, actually.
With tubes smoked to that level I can't even read the hours meter.
Yes, this did come from Curt. I got it specifically to have a second chassis for test, and if it was a good chassis, to build up
my rebuilt PJ in it. Which will happen.
What's even better, I just scored a brand new (NOS) set of P19LCPs, and I have a set of LC assemblies to put them in.
I have my own machining capability to I'll just copy the 9" mounting plates.
But I'll have to buy another set of bellows from Athan.
I even have a pair of red and green C elements for it.

I do have pix of the projectors. THe waybill clearly said 'NO STACKING', and they left unstacked, the seller told me so. I've bought from him before, and I trust him (except for tube condition).
This is the second claim this year. I filed in small claims against Canadian Freightways this fall, and once it goes to court in January, I'll post the whole thing. A forklift tine went through through the side of the set, yet CF denied the claim. Go figure. So far they've spend between $1000-1500 for a lawyer to represent them here, as they are based out of Calgary. The claim is worth $3700, and there's really no reason not to win this one. Idiots.
I've filed 4 small claims suits this year, after years of letting things slide to let the 'big boys' win. I decided this year since times were tough, that I'd fight the big guys, since it's only $125 to file in small claims. I've won the one case that was heading to court so far, the other party decided to back out. Ha!

It will be nice if you can file in US courts...
No lawyers allowed in small claims.

Lawyers are allowed if the other party is out of town, but I agree, a lawyer makes the represented party look bad. What's funny is that I filed _just_ under the 2 year mark from when I got the final insurance claim denial letter, although I sent 2 subsequent emails which were unanswered by CF's customer service. It was over 2 years from the ship date though.
Up here (I assume its similar in the US), you serve the other party via registered mail or by a process server. IN with the claim form is a 'reply' form that the defendant must fill out and send back to the courts stating their position. Of course, a large company never deals with this personally, they send stuff like this to their legal beagles.
So... their lawyer filed for a dismissal, since they claim it was over 2 years from the ship date, therefore the case is null and void (2 year statute of limitations up here on small claims), but they never filed a reply. So.. the court clerk told me that I shoudl ask for a default judgment since they need to file a reply regardless whether they want to get the case dismissed.
So we actually went to court on Nov 30, I met the articling student representing CF, he was a really nice kid. We exchanged notes, he knows that I want a default judgment, blah blah. So we get into court, and the small claims judge throws out all new cases, as an old one was being held over. Fine by me, since it's costing me nothing but time, but the $200 an hour (at least) meter is ticking for CF. Hahahahahahahaha! So it goes back to court in Jan.

Curt the claim I won was settled because I had pictures of the projector before and packaged up, when it arrived the box had been bashed around so much that the corners and edges were all rounded and split! so I took pictures, and the shipping receiver I used in Sumas (Ship Happens) suggested I leave the packaging for the courier to inspect. they ended up picking it up and verifying that it started out properly packaged. I made sure I was the shipper and receiver of record on the paperwork so they couldn't do the "we only deal with the shipper" runaround. and they eventually payed up without lawyers. I use CF a lot for shipping and have never had a problem but most of my freight is not very fragile.

Well, CF's opinion is that 'it was signed for received in good condition'. The problem with that is the damage was hidden, there was a little gash at the midpoint of the box. I wrap the sets in bubble wrap, so it wasn't that the box was destroyed, as the bubble wrap more or less pushed it back out. But put it this way: The top 1/4" thick aluminum over the tubes/lenses was bent in half. You can't do that by hand...
Also, the CF waybill fine print says you have 60 days to file a claim, I filed it the day that the buyer told me the set was destroyed. So I don't really see how I'll lose this case. I'll post a full report with projector pix once it's settled.
