Hello, I recently stumbled upon a boxlight 9600 for sale, I know it was made roughly over 10 years ago and the basic specs, also seen some suggestions that it was made and marketed by sanyo as the PLC 9000. after much various googling I finally found at least some mention of it on this website.

I would like to know what is so special about this projector, and whether I should consider buying it. It seems to have an amazing zoom lens, but then again I am no projector buff and would like to know more about it.

If anyone has any information they would like to share I would be very grateful, thank you!

I'm pretty sure that Boxlight is out of business, and most likely simply relabeled the manufacturer's original projector anyways as you say.

Nothing fancy about this unit at all, and with it being 10 years old, and a contrast ratio of 300:1, it's worth maybe $50, if that.. It will not make a good home theater projector at this point.

Why does one come to this forum to ask a question about a ten year old business projector and think they will get better feedback than a digital-centric forum like AV$?

I was surprised to get any feedback, while this site is not focused projectors like this at all, it was the only forum that I could find where someone actually made mention of this specific projector. not a big lead, but so far the only shot I had. Either way I'm glad I stumbled here, theres quite a bit I have learned in one day about crt's.

So on what site can fin this AV$ forum?

Avsforum.com, but realize the group here is much more friendly than the "A" site. Don't be suprised if you get one word replies like "junk". I think I sold one of those to realitor back in the days. It was ok for Powerpoints but had no place in a home theater.
