Any idea, i can mess with the geometry like mad and barely make any progress, that one corner screws the whole thing.

If you put a grid pattern on is the vertical center line actually vertical or leaning left at the top?

An extreme combination of tilt/skew and key-balance settings (or a defect in one of the drives) can result in something like you are showing. A grid pattern would be helpful.

here ya go.

This is during warmup, you can see raster is freaking everywhere.

This is with pattern, i've adjusted the hell out of it trying to make it better, but one corner is still all out of wack.

All the settings i have fooled with don't show any real improvement, i'm thinking something is broken. Several guys parting out NEC's right now, i'll have to search around and see what is compatible... I just don't know what is wrong.

Was this projector setup for a ceiling or rear projection? If so then the deflection yolks might be whats causing your way out there geometry, Id tell you where and what specific wires you need to change, but honestly I haven't stuck my head into my own NEC for a while (why bother when it doesnt' need tweaking? Smile )

Best of luck to you!

Have you tried adjusting KEY-BALANCE? You get to it with CTRL+KEY and if mid-adjusted can distort the image in the way you are seeing. The KB left/right adjustment is to achieve equal but opposite tilt on the sides. The KB up/dn adjustment is to get equal but opposite tilt on the top/bottom. You then use the main Keystone adjustment to make the sides parallel. It works best to focus on one element at a time (i.e. sides only) to avoid confusion. It might work best to 0 (or center) the 2 Key-balance values, adjust KEY so that it's close, then make adjust KB to make the tilt on the opposite side equal but opposite. For example, If the left slants in at the bottom, the right side should slant in by the same amount. If not, use the left/right KB.

im almost certain its the (dpb on a nec?) i had a similar thing when i replaced a few tants on my dpb where i used the hot air gun and 1 smd resistor was blown against another resistor.
putting the resistor in his right spot again made the problem go away.

Looks like it is an easier problem to solve. The connectors under the deflection board i believe are set wrong... is there a simple way of understanding how these are set, the NEC manual makes no sense to me.

I swapped the red with the brown across the board, and now i have a rectangle raster... i didn't have time to hook up a source and play with it any more than that, had to take my dog to class.
