Yeah so much for 9" sets dropping in price. They went for MORE this time. And no it wasn't me WAY to rich for my blood. I figured these might have sneaked back in under the radar but I guess all the free advertising here last time knocked these up. I wonder why the previous bidder bailed?

I didn't even bid this time when it was cheap, and I'm gonna be in GA again next week with a truck.

Lately I've been totally content owning a pile of projectors that aren't a 909.. easier on the pocketbook Smile

Being prodas though doesn't that mean they are modified for a curved screen? Practically useless for anything we want them for.!!

They went for $6300. It was probably a resale of the second lot from the last auction a few weeks ago.

I thought the 909 had enough geometry range out of the box for curved screens? If so you just might have to deal with a goofy wear pattern Sad

I bailed at $6K, and even that was $1K too high for me. there was one guy in Ga that emailed me yesterday, asking if I wanted to split the lot (he wanted one), and I said sure. I also told him the condition of the sets, so maybe he grabbed them. Wasn't a regular forum member..

I just sold a 909 for 24 k a month ago with my special modifications

The problem is the American economy is not as good as it used to be.

These high-end projectors are really coveted in China and Hong Kong, and I usually get an email a day asking for Cine9 units. They are not shy to pay for them.

So really the 9 inch market is getting much stronger. A 909 with simulation-grade tubes, mods, and warranty is worth well into the 10-15k range for a used one.

It wasn't me. I didn't even know they were back up. I wonder if the bid went up based on my inspection last time. $6300 isn't the final price. You have to factor in the buyers premium and tax.

That is what I hear from Roger Galvin. He said he is flying over to China a lot to set up those NIB G90s. The Chinese apparently have no problem paying a premium for CRTs. Hey, if there are any Chinese reading this I will sell you a 909 for a good price. Wink

I actually need to get in to the garage and start working on them.

I almost forgot. Sec, the wear pattern was pretty large. One could easily put an image inside the wear pattern. Of course, one could also just even out the wear on the rest of the tube.

The 909 and cine 9 units are the most wanted projector on the market they are also complex and the most expensive to repair if you dont know them well.

The CPU alone can cost over 4k so when people say they can get one for $2500 or so if lucky! Many people come to me asking for parts after getting a "Deal" on a 909 just to sell it to another customer who emails me a week later asking for the same computer or Vertical card. I had one projector sold, sold and sold again 4 times each time I sent the same email I just copied and pasted.

The real trick is to get one that works and will hold out, to repair and parts is a major issue. Its like buying a BMW if you get one with out the KEY at an auction the price will be much much much lower. The trick is to get one you know is good and thats why they pay extra 10k or piece of mind.

That being said the SEOS have to be converted back. In SEOS form they are worthless basically to most end users .

I recommend a re flash new tubes updates etc get them ready. Repaint etc.

Also people are picky they want new tubes perfect chassis etc.

Hit me up if you want to sell the ones your have I would buy them.

CRT prices are still high the issue is the unknowns keep the prices low because people just dont understand the technology, get one then cant afford the parts, service and complex installation.

I just checked and the wear pattern is pretty large. You could go with a slightly non-maximized raster and be within the wear or even the tube wear. I thought Peri and others had pretty good success with their tube wearing procedure.
