Sorry if posted in the incorrect place.
I have a NEC XG 135 where the Red tube stopped working (Green and Blue are fine). It has cut back in a few times for a minute or two and them cut back out. The unit experienced a power hit about a year ago and the red tube had issues with convergence in the lower right corner that was not fully fixable through adjustments. Beyond that it worked fine for over a year. I have validated that it is the projector and not an input (RGB) problem. Any suggestions on areas to focus on would be appreciated.

OK, first is there no red on internal test patterns as well? I don't know how handy you are around electronics but, if the answer is no, the next thing I would try is re-seating the red neck board (with the projector OFF). If that doesn't work, try swapping neck boards with a tube that works.
If the neck board is gone, I'm sure Curt has plenty of them in stock. If it ends up being the red tube, I'll bet he has decent used ones in stock.

This could be the red CRT socket (most likely), but it could also be a fault in the V board that can easily end up snapping the neck of the red tube if you keep running it.
You should send me both the V board and the red CRT socket for repair/testing so the set doesn't self destruct.
Shoot me an email to curtpalme@shaw.ca
Thanks!
