I finally got around to installing a replacement Multi Standard Decoder board in my 8500. Yes, I still have a need for a composite input. I simply cannot get any video out of it. When I switch back to my RGBHV inputs the video bounces right back but it starts very large and shrinks back to fit the screen correctly, as if there is some sort of HV anomaly.

Any ideas what might be the problem? Bad board?

Thanks,

John

The VIM has not been modded but the VNB's, HVPS, and LVPS have been missed with the standard mods.

The replacement board is a newer version with alot less components on the board. Could there possibly be a compatability issue?

Sounds like the video board is causing HV shutdown for some reason. I've had the odd board crap out on me, including the later model ones. Let me know if you need one, I have buckets.. I'll send ya two at no charge save for shipping costs, or $10 for a tested one. Very Happy
