OK, here's one that I haven't seen before, and I thought I was being stupid, but Tim can't figure it out either.

I bought several late model Marquee 8500s recently, this one is my test set. THis is the version with the Ultra motherboard, but all other boards are non Ultra.

Everything works fine, but the H convergence works BACKWARDS. Vertical is fine. Left button= right movement, and vice versa. Oh, the center zone controlled by the HDM works correctly.

I've swapped:

-CLM
-convergence output
-V output (was swapping the set over to an Ultra so I tried it regardless)

All yoke connections are fine, about all I haven't checked that I thought of while typing this was to see if someone had reversed the coil windings on hte convergence output connector. THese came out of some sort of drafting table application I think, so maybe E'home changed the wiring to suit the application?

I do know the super secret password and looked to see if there was a way to reprogram the convergence movement, but I couldn't see anything.

Assistance please! Mr. Green

Take a loose tube and make an umbilical cord extension so you can connect it to the chassis with out removing the existing tubes so you can check against a tube where you know the coils are stock and not possibly reversed.

The little wire loops on the horiz yoke connectors tell the cpu which way they are plugged in and the convergence waveforms come out to match that. I think the center convergence (horiz shift) gets it's directions the same way so it is a mystery why the convergence would work differently.

Look in the * menu and check which way the processor thinks the yokes are configured.

Do the geometry controls work in the right direction?

It is always possible that the convergence coils are wired opposite of standard. Or even the deflection yoke windings.

That is certainly a problem that I've never seen before.
