Hi,
I have a problem with my BG808s and I really need your help.
yesterday, while I was watching a movie, a strange noise started coming from the back right side of the pj, sounds like a jammed fan or something.
few seconds after, I started to see waves in the picture, it looked like there was an open window behind the screen. few seconds later the picture turned black, though the PJ was still working according to the fan noise.
I turned the PJ off and waited until morning. I set the pj on in the morning and things looked ok, I got the all white pattern, pressed exit and got a picture. after a few tenths of seconds, I heard the noise again and the picture turned black. I tested it again after a few hours and got the same result.
It looks to me like something is wrong with the PS, but other than that I don't know how to continue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Or

Do you have any red LEDs lit on the boards and also check the LED on the EHT module.

Ok,
I listened closely and I'm almost certain that the noise is coming from the EHT.
I don't any LEDs there, do I need to take apart the metal cover above the EHT?

The LED can be hard to see you need to look through the holes on top carefully. The LED is only likely to be on when the picture goes out (i.e., when there is high voltage failure). The EHT also sits over the quadrupler which are famous for making noise as they die. I'd guess it is your quad which is a common failure in Barcos and very hard to find these days.

Well, I really hope it's not the quadrupler .
I looked through the holes and I see one led, the led is red. what's my next step?

I'll try to find a spare splitter and see where it goes.
Thanks

I have splitters. If you can't find one, the best thing is to send in the EHT board and quad so I can test them in a set here. If they check OK, I'll sell you a splitter.

I took out the EHT module.
I have two more questions,
How do take out the quadrupler ?
and where do I find the splitter?

Remove right plastic side panel and you will see screw heads under it.

Splitter is between tubes neck, follow red hv-cables from tubes.
