help,
I’ have bouhgt the mac 881 blu ray player to replace the mac 871 SD player.
But there is something wrong with the image.
For a clear image I have to put the contrast en brilliance to the maximum on de HD player and on the cine 8. And the picture is still darker than the picture in SD.
Is it normal that de player plays a darker image on de HD player than on the SD player.
The HD player is set on 1080i and connected to port 5 with component connectors on the cine 8. (the SD signal was connected in the same way to port 5 with the internal limo pro set on)
i'am i doing something wrong???
Thanks

HD shouldn't be dimmer than SD.
Did you adjust active picture to center of raster with Hphase after chancing to 1080i?

Wrong setting can cause dim picture. You need to adjust brightness to 80 to get raster to show and also set contrast to 10 before you can look to tubes.
Have you tested some other resolution like 720p?

the raster is set on the rigt place, all settings are redone because de projector creats a new adress bloc, the dark problem is the same on 720p.
when i use a SD disk in the 881 and the scaling is done by the br player the picture is good.
the problem is only with a blu rau disk

Good question. Give it a try. Though that may only apply to HDMI output
