Ok so I just went to Overture to check out the new digitals. Man there is zero lacking in the pictures of the $3500 and up machines, it would be a nobrainer to pull My 9500 and put in a RUNCO Light style LS3 or a Sony VW80.

Oh yeah and I saw the RUNCO LED P/J pared with the OPPO $14,995 stunning and razor sharp.

The reason I bring this up as part of this question was the Blu-Ray players being used were the OPPO 83 and the Integra BDS 50.2 for the demo.

The OPPO is $499 the Integra is $600.

The Integra has a 3 year warranty http://www.integrahometheater.com/model.cfm?m=DBS-50.2&class=DVD&p=f

The OPPO is highly regarded and is out of production, but still available, and has a 1 year warranty.

I'm leaning towards the Integra because I have the 10.5 DVD player which has been rock solid for the 5 years I've owned it, with the exception of a blue blinking light on the panel that has nothing to do with it's operation.

Tech guys what do you think?

Yup... they had an opening for some new speakers.... SPECTACULAR!!!!

You are right about the Digitals though. I could EASILY live with the new Runco... I'm planning on getting a Sony digital after tax season.....

I also would concur with everyone about the new BDP93. Aside from more features, you just get a lot better current and future technical support with Oppo then you do with any of the mainstream manufacturers like Integra. While everyone else is looking to the next model, Oppo, among other things and where necessary, continues to provide firmware updates on present equipment to deal with any BR disc playability issues.

You can apply a $69 'plug in' module to the Oppo units and have region free Blu-ray playback ability.
