I have been using a HTPC in this setup to play my ripped movies on my PJ. I have not moved up to Blue-Ray from SD DVD and the NEC cannot handle 1080p

Home Server --> Home Network --> HTPC --> VGA to 5-ENC cable --> NEC 6PGXtra.

Recently I have been thinking of moving the HTPC to another use and replacing it with a Sage TV HD300 like this

Home Server --> Home Network --> Sage TV HD 300 HDMI output --> HD Fury 3 --> VGA to 5-BNC cable --> NEC 6PGXtra.

Will this work, or am I missing something here? Can I replace the HTPC with an extender?

I would appreciate any comments
