|
|
It started with just a failing Inline breakout box that needed replacing. Now its just one increasing problem after another with me. The latest is after repositioning my B board into the G70 and closing everything up the projector won't power up. I am sure its getting power but absolutely nothing happens when I push the start button.
Here are things that are happened that might give a hint.
1. Earlier today when the "B" board was out I once accidentally started the projector. It powered up and right away powered off with an 39 error message.
2. I put the B board back in. The "B" board has six colored wires feeding into it. I put the red wire on RG1, blue on BG1 green on GG1, The orange on RK the yellow on GK and the white on BK. I checked all the connections. Then the card was snapped in and it fit securely. The large metal cover that covers the tubes was open so I closed it and locked it down with the screws.
I have never had the projector not power on before except when the plastic cover for the polarity wires was not secured.
The projector is plugged in and the power switch is set to the "On" position.

It sounds like you are missing a connection somewhere. Go back through and reseat everything.

I believe the set only needs the CPU boards and the power supplies to work in order to turn the set on (then it will turn off immediately as it senses errors).
If it doesn't come on at all, then yes....
-you missed a connection somewhere
-remote/internal keypad died
-CPU boards are defective
-one of the power supplies died.
Powering the set up without a board installed shouldn't damage the projector, but I have seen power supplies fail once in a blue moon while you're working on it (it sent me for a loop when it happened to me while working on a standard convergence board repair).
If you can't find the problem, then it might be time to fire a series of boards up to me..

I was too bummed and feeling sorry for myself yesterday to post.
Standby light is not on.
Nothing that went wrong before made sense until I pulled the "B" board and saw the sister card was dislodged.
That made sense because the top cover plate was off which allowed the input wires to jiggle it loose when I was connecting RGB cables.
This solved the mystery of the projector not finding an input.
I have another remote internal keypad. I have another powersupply. Unless I have the wires on the wrong connectors I don't know what connection I missed. All this means bringing the projector off the ceiling which is too much for me to mentally to bear at the moment. So is the idea of repairing the PA boards for the second time in a year.
I should mention I initially pulled the "b" board to send it in.
I need to regather myself.
But I wanted to thank people for their responses.
