i have an ATX form mother board.
2 optical drives: bd player and dvd rw
1 geforce 8600 graphic card
1 digital/optical I/O sound card
addit. 4x usb internal port
500watt power supply.

was wondering what would be the best htpc case for me, but not too expensive either?

I have been used basic silverstone for 5 years, no complaints still like new. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163054

Installed power supply upside down, so it suck hot air from case. It needed two new holes.
Slowed down case fans.
Made bit different vibration dampered rack for one HD.

Based on experience, the smaller cases have problems if you try to use PCI-e video cards and normal form factor HDD with an ATX MB. I switched my case last month to a Silverstone case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163166
and I have been having cooling issues with the HTPC ever since. The case does not have enough room for the HDD, DVD and the processor cooling fan to fit without obstructing air flow. I am using a ATX MB in HTPC. I am still waiting for some free time to take it apart and maybe put it back into the old case.

It's ugly to me. But as long as you like it, that's all that counts.

Hey I was just messin' with you lukem. You gave Ile a hard time for having a large case, then you end up buying one yourself. Rolling Eyes Wink

I also have a large HTPC case. I wouldn't want a small case that limited my component options.

I haven't kept up with HTPCs in years, but when I did Silent-X was often mentioned.
