I never found this movie on DVD, but then again maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. Anyway, I remember enjoying this movie in the theaters years ago and would like to finally enjoy it now that it is coming out this month. For those of you not aware of this Terry Gilliam movie, please consult IMDB or Wikipedia.

great movie. for a long LONG time it was only available on VHS. and that's how i watched it. i think i also got it at some point on LD. can't remember. i hope that the BR is a good transfer, there is a lot of potential for blooming bad reds in that movie (pun intended). i seem to remember that the DVD transfer was from the LD, so was a step down from that. but i might be thinking of another movie, they did a lot of LD -> DVD transfers years back.

but a great movie. oh wait. i said that.

Yes, great movie.

There were two DVD transfers done for this film (actually Criterion may have been a third). One very good, the other fairly decent. I believe I have both. IIRC, the Criterion Edition was rather poor quality, but had an excellent set of bonus materials. I never got that one.

I probably have the LD as well, and an S-VHS copy recorded from C-band. Along with an HD copy recorded from TMC-HD. I'll wait until I hear what DVDTalk or somebody has to say about the transfer before I buy yet another copy, even at a modest $13.
