one thing I noticed when looking at it in the store is that I couldn't find where I might do a custom gamma curve...I thought one could do that with Nvidia once upon a time.

Video equalizer not good enough?

all it does it raise or lower the gamma...I seem to recall there used to be a graph where you could raise or lower specific points on the curve and get a very custom curve...no?

Yes!
You can set a custom curve and tweak it as you desire. I have a little kick in the bottom end which gives me shadow detail while maintaining FFTB. I couldn't imaging Crt without it
I had the box 1020/vp50 combo and couldn't get the bottom end the way I wanted it and sold the lot, this kicks ass!
