James,
I am thinking of nominating you as the one to take Nashou's CRT baton.Smile When you were talking about making a vacuum chamber to deposit your own AR coatings, I kept thinking how even Nash would be impressed.

That is cool!!! Someone posted awhile back a guy who made CRT's but not the phosphor type but the type for tube amps. It was a really cool video as well.

I wish I was a multi millionaire , I'd get TSE,WTS, MP, Video Grabber and the other tech gurus and Computer programers here and work on building a 2.35 aspect ration CRT Projector.

That be awesome!!!

Why couldn't we just modify a current pj to use 2.40:1 tubes? You could stilll use the same lenses in theory.

I wouldn't want any of the current PJ's. Id want it to have the Video Chain and protection circuitry of the Marquee, the marquee deflection magnetics. Sony HV power supply Marquee LVPS. Barco Cine 9 Computer control, Some of the Ampro geometry controls like the zone linearity, the global linearity of the marquee sometimes doesn't work like it should. Ummm, i have not had time to look at the G90's LC chamber but Since the new bellows work better than the old one on the marquee that could stay the same. it also have built in Scaler from Lumagen with Andres blend programing to go along with the lumagen CMS and superb scaling. It come with a single HDMI input but with an lumagen built External Switcher, all scaling done in the PJ.

The Tubes would be new in size so you would need larger lens's. they would keep the same hight but go wider for a 16x9 aspect since we'd use Andres blend for a wider image. Smile

I love these "fantasy" posts.

Trip was fantastic - Now I know how what it is like to be pampered. 6,000 acre ranch in Montana with a back porch view of more than 100 miles. I want to be immensely wealthy in my next life!
