I currently have a HD fury 1 DVI device which works great. I was wondering since DVI is similar to HDMI would one of those connector adapters work? I know the LVDS sinals are compatible but I am not sure of power etc. Has anyone tried this?

Yep, the HDFury'll work just fine with an HDMI source. An HDMI-DVI cable is best for this, since it involves fewer connections (and less places for signal dropouts to occur) than a cable-and-adapter setup.
