Can someone help me? Need to pick up and ship a skid for me. As always, the best deals are too far from mr to drive.

Nope, that would be a nine-hour round trip for me.

Yeah, I need someone around the Houston area.
Does anyone know of a service that would residential pickup, palletize, and freight ship an item?

Try calling a few independent "pack and ship" stores in the area... If they wouldn't do it themselves, one of them may know somebody who would.
Try googling "houston packing shipping service"... These are a couple of the first:

I don't think you'll have any trouble finding somebody to do it... It's just whether you'll like the price. Given you're probably talking half a day of somebody's time to pickup, prep/palletize, drop, mileage, and materials... I wouldn't be surprised if you were looking at $200-300 on top of whatever the LTL freight costs (another $200-300?).
