hey guys.

A few weeks ago I started to hear an electrical crackling sound while my marquee was on. This sound appears everytime the projector is on. it comes and goes continuously while viewing a movie and its pretty loud. I too the time to take the lid off the marwuee and The only place i can trace where the sound is coming from is the hv-splitter. What to do?? replace it fix it and whats causing it ?

Another thing wich ive ignored for a while is I got the fluid in my tubes changed and ever since when the CRT has been running for an hour or so a greeinsh shimmer occurs around white objects. Subtitles and anything white. whats causing it?

Hello

Your high voltage splitter may be leaky, or an anode lead has not been fully tightened, or the anode connector may be leaky or cracked. The rubber seal in the connector my be leaky due to deformation.

Can you post a picture of the green problem?

This could be contaminated Glycol. Did you do teh bellow swap? I think i sold you a set. If you did not I bet the person who
Changed the Glycol did one of two things.

1) not clean the chamber parts and the new bellow well.
2) the Anodizing of the face plate has corroded away and the bare aluminum is being eaten by the new glycol which builds crystals and fungus on the tube face glass. If that is the case you need to remove the glycol, bellow and paint the Aluminum with Epoxy paint and let cure for one week before putting it back together.

or
3) re-used the old glycol? I think in the EU it's very hard to get anything more toxic than paint thinner. Their enviro laws are strict (not a bad thing)

Hey Guys.

Ive decided to take one problem at the time. Staring with the electrical noise!
Ive traced the electric sound from the high voltage cable coming from the blue tube. I didnt notice it before but when the cable is put in to the HV splitter You can clearly see a small electrical current coming out of the connector. The connector im reffering to is the the black rubber/plastic that you turn to tighten to the HV splitter. But I must say that I can see any cracks or deformation on it. The eletrical beam is touching any metal that is near, And its Loud. Now I dont have the experience or expertise to change a new HV cable to the blue tube. Can I somehow fix this problem without doing so!

Can you try connecting the blue HV plug to the red HV plug and vice-versa. Also clean the connectors so in case they are dirty the HV finds the easiest path (the right one).

BTW - I'm amazed that you got the Marquee ceiling mounted in your main bedroom!

also, did you do the HV splitter tech bulletin that calls for re-routing some wires and flipping hte splitter mounting plate upside down? May not be a fix, but you never know. I would do it before changing an HV lead. Very easy to do, and all you need is a screw driver and 15 minutes.

Tried changing the plugs to HV splitter but it didnt work. The blue plug is the problem.
And regarding the Bedroom. Yeah it was a battle with the wife Smile

looks like it draganm i guess has a lead on another hv lead or perhaps curt has some spares.
he will give you information on the procedure and the silicon to be used.
i would go for transparant silicon.

TV/Projector: All of them!

I am just now placing an order for new HV leads. I think I have a source. Smile

if so, they should be here in a week, and I'm ordering LOTS.

Price will be $20-25 each plus a couple of bucks for shipping. Not cheap, but with HV, I'd rather use new than used. Haven't had one of my used ones fail yet, but still...

Email me in about a week if you still need one or more..
