I don't know about serious wear. I know everyone likes new tubes, but if you stay within the lines those tubes will work just fine for several thousand more hours.
Good luck.

if i get it i will blend the beast, that is gonna be so much fun.
and you are right craig the used raster is big so it will not be a problem staying within it.
if you are in germany you could bid on it.

Hell yeah dude!!!...get it! It was well set up as we can all see so go for it. Besides, sadly as other display technologies evolve there are an increasing number of pj's being parted out so picking up inexpensive replacement tubes later on is almost a given.
~$242USD for a 9500 Ultra??? That's a no brainer IMO. Tell you what, you snag it for 200EU and I'll give you $500USD for it and even spring for shipping.

i cannot understand it either some are being sold so cheap.
especially for games, there is nothing better than a big 9inch, all those digitals smear and have artefacts even those fancy jvc`s.
first crt i saw was in 1997 on a show it was a barco1209s and from then on i wanted a crt.
it was priceless of course and they had a videoprocessor as big as the crt itself feeding it.
price then was fl150.000,-- (for the combo) that is over 68000 euro (in sept 1997).
they showed digitals too at that show, infocus but i dont know the type, of course it was absolutely nothing compared to the barco.

Sorry to say, but no way he is going to sell it for 200€. I think it will go at least over 800€ or so. Prices aren't THAT low in Germany...
Greetings!

Good luck! It's sad to see, but 9" are really coming down in price. Great for those that couldn't afford it before. Hopefully the tubes will last until the next technology comes into our price range.

dvh,
CRT is still the best for motion, which is good for games, but how many people that game on their projectors are that particular?

I am not sure that it is sad. I would say that it is unfortunate that CRT is losing its niche, but it did have a 100 year run.
As for the next tech to come into our price range, I would say it has for a lot of people. I could live with any of the JVC pjs quite happily and those are getting down into the high teens.
Oh, good luck dvh. I don't know what your breaking point is, but hopefully you can grab it for under 1k euros.

this guy has no idea what he is selling i guess.
in the german part he says it has hd10l lenses and in the english part he says it has hd10gt17.
i mailed him about this and asked him which lenses are on and what tubes are in.
he said hd10l but couldnt tell me if it were lugs or lcps.
i also read in the lenses thread that hd10l came standard on m9000 pjs so how am i able to see if it really is a 9500ultra very easily.
some chip on the clm, cant remember which 1 exactly a 2035-02 or03p vim although they are on regular 9500s too.
and how does the focus module from an ultra differ from a non ultra.
and perhaps the hdm is different too.
btw still the highest bidder with 1 day to go.

Currently the highest bid is at 103 euro, as we are about to enter the last day. I guess 800 would be accepatble to DVH as he paid 2500 (or was it 2K, don't remember exactly) for his late model 9500 LC Ultra from a German reseller, some time ago.
The wear is clearly from a curved screen set-up, but the wear surface area doesn't seem to overlap across the three tubefaces, as if these have been swapped among the three projectors out of the original blend.

Everyone knows that the real Ebay auction happens within the last 3 minutes.
...And posting a link to a cheap 9500 in a CRT forum?
Good luck.

i went to 450 and after that wanted to see what happened.
last bid was something over 500, i doubt however if that was near the maximum bid.
if it will appear again on ebay i will know if the last bid was bogus, i have seen this several times and now that i cannot see the bidders location anymore its harder to tell if fraud is involved.

I have seen the same thing more than once. last bid now was 510.
last week on ebay.de there was a 1209s with perfect tubes and good history that went for a bit over 800e. much better deal in my opinion.

No Marquee ever came standard with LUGs.

No 9500's ever shipped standard with 03P VIM.

I'm not sure what the differences are. Anyone?

It's got some stuff for the extra geometry that the Ultra is capable of. See the pics below for visual differences.

What year did they make that change? Must have been in the mid or late 2000's?
