Anyone ever hear of an Ultra Vision UV 3000?
Someone's offering me one with "good tubes". I couldn't find any informatin on it.
But it does look a lot like the Zenith 841. The casing at least. Question

Did Hitachi ever make a CRT projector? "UltraVision" is their brand name, IIRC.

This is a Zenith PV 800. Circa 1985. Just as I think none are left, someone else pops up with one. A great unit, I sold 100s back in the day, 480i(video) only, can't do HD, and no parts are available for it. If it works, great, use it and enjoy, but if the tubes are worn, or it doesn't work, or doesn't focus properly, send it to the recycler.

Oops, re-read your post. It is probably a PV 820 or PV830 if it looks like an 841. THE UV2000 was based on the 800. THe 820s and 830s had no vents on the top of the unit, the 841 and 851 did.

It's worth maybe $50-100, but beware, EVERYONE claims good tubes, even the ones that were running in sports bars for 14 hours a day. Smile

I took some pics this morning, I'll post them up later this evening. I didn't get a good look at the tubes though. It's really hard to tell with the lens on. I asked the seller if he would mind if I took it apart to see if the tubes are still good, and he looked at me a little funny and told me he didn't want to go through all of that, and lowered the price even more...I just don't want to pick something up that turns out to be useless...Not to mention, it only does 480i Confused

If it is like the Zenith 821 that I had,it will have a gel between the lens and tube.
