I fell in love with In-N-Out when I lived in CA 20 years ago. Always look for one when I travel out west. My favorite all-time burger. Great fresh cut fries too.
But isn't it redundant to say "with onions" since they come that way by default?

Are they fast like the name implies? I went to McDonald's today, not by choice. My second and hopefully last time eating there this year. I'd say we were in the drive-through for a good 15-20min and they still messed up the order. My Crispy Chicken Sandwich was served on the wrong bun, had no tomatoes and only a small dab of mayo and a tiny piece of lettuce. We did get it fixed and it almost looked like the actual picture except for the bun, I guess they didn't notice that either and didn't change it.

I don't know about 20 years ago, but it's the default question now.
"Would you like onions on that?"
It's been about four months since my last double-double. And I'm jonesing badly.

I'm not a big burger eater, but have to agree these are the best fastfood burgers. Always animalized.........

Where is Wallace when you really need him ?
Quote:
Thanks for the compliments. BBQ and a good movie on the HT; what a wonderful combination! Thumbs Up
I tried to use a grill for a smoker, but there was just too much heat. It also took too much "watching and tending" for me. I use a charcoal grill for steaks, seafood, veggies, and stuff. That Weber add-on might work, but I don't have a Weber type grill. Could be worth a try.
I have 2 smokers (am looking to buy a trailer smoker for whole hogs Mr. Green Mr. Green ). 1 is the old "off-set" heavy metal type and the other is an electric.
The electric is great for consistent and easy BBQ (pork shoulder, briskets, ribs). My only bitch is it lacks the stronger wood flavor I like. But don't get me wrong, they are great! Meat is moist and good flavor if you use the right marinades and rubs. This was the same type electric smoker I have used: http://www.amazon.com/Masterbuilt-20070106-30-Inch-Electric-Smokehouse/dp/B00104WRCY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1263597357&sr=1-4
The charcoal is harder to work with because it requires lots of attention and tending. But, I get a more smokey flavor from it.
I only use hardwood (lump) type charcoal. Cowboy brand is easy to get here. The stuff that Royal Oak and Kingsford make have that regular "briquette" type smell to them. I stay away from them.
You can get many different flavors for you bbq'ing depending on the wood. For most of my bbq, I use hickory or oak. When I lived in Florida, I used orange tree wood for pork. It was really good!
wallace
Thanks guys now I'm thinking about food.............

Tom, I used a Weber last summer to smoke with Wallace's help and direction. It came out awesome!!!!! I plan to do much more this year!! Thinkin maybe some pulled pork for the holiday week end....yummy!!!!!
No charcoal, hardwood lump charcoal(Cowboy brand) only with water soaked wood chunks, hickory, applewood and oak!

You can't have "pulled pork" without Curt there. He's getting used to pulled pork since the last GF left

I'm a huge fan of In-N-Out Burgers, but between that and Five Guys I like the latter because of their french fries, which are cooked in peanut oil from fresh-cut potatoes every day. That's my personal opinion, and I both think they're awesome burger joints, but I think Five Guys does it slightly better overall.

Yeah, I recently hit a Five Guys for the first time, and I was impressed. Nothing fancy, but excellent burgers and AWESOME fries.

I like Five Guys, but I think Hardees Angus burgers are better than both. I remember eating a Jalapeno laced hamburger in Midland Tx that was really good. I wish they had those around here.
