i've tried to adjust the cpc magnets on my marquee9500. Specially green was flaring in one direction and that was improved. Acording to the text i've read the focus coil has to be moved because the picture moves on the screen. this seems a little bit over my level so i rather not touch that.
my question is: is it not enough just to "recenter" the raster in the guided mecanical setup to correct the movement?
i also vented the chambers, a little glycol ran out but i did not "pop" out with high pressure like i've expected. Is that normal that the glycol just slowly dripped out. Not a big amount came out perhaps 5ml in total

Hello
Green does not pivot. If you can pivot red and blue for a match and still hit the screen then you are in good shape. The bore of the focus yoke is a few mm. larger in diameter than the tube glass, so if one chips away any hot glue and loosens the brass wing nuts on the focus yoke, it can be wobbled about the tube neck as a centering magnet.

THe other way to go it is to go into the convergence service menu, and shift the green raster that way. Some will say that will make convergence more unstable overall, but as Tim says, playing with the focus yoke is the right way to do it.

thanks! so far ive just played with the 2pole(flare) and the flaring improved(were equalized) but the shape is still not 100% round. its getting ok when adjusting the stigmator in the service menu. Maybe i should trye to play with the 4pole to. The sides are still kind of bad. I am a total beginner so i think i start with the green convergence way.
does the 4pole affects the roundnes more than the 2pole/flare ring? is there some elecricity near the focus yoke that i shuld beware of?
