Hello, i'm from Italy, i'm writing here to ask the community about differences between barco graphics 808 and data 808s.
Well, i know the hardware differences, but the fact is that i have a barco graphics 808 with 6900 hours on it, tubes about 7 in rating except for the red one, and i have the chance to get a barco data 808s with 600 hours, made in 2004 (yes 2004, it's written on the tag) for about a 1000 euros.
Will the scheimpflug loss be so important?
What do you think about the electrical differences? Some say the older 808 are better than the 808s!
I don't care about iris, but with a scanrate of 75khz will it be bossible to do 1080i 75hz?
Do i have to sell my bg808 or keep it for pieces?
Well, i thik you have understood my position, HELP PLEASE!!!
P.S. Thanks to all the community here, cheers from Italy Very Happy Very Happy

The tubes in both sets should be MEC, so you could take the tube mounts out of the BG 808 and put them into the BD808s, and 'almost' make it a BG808. Smile The scan rate and bandwidth is better on the BG808, but yes, the BD808 will do 1080i no problem, and I don't think you'll see the difference in the picture quality.
