just make sure the hv lead from the hvps goes to in on the hv splitter.
the order in which you put the hv leads from the tubes into the splitter doesnt matter.

it is printed on the hv splitter (on the side), at least on mine and i have the same splitter.

is it ok if the hv splitter hangs lose with electricity on while adjusting the magnets? or should i tie it up some how?

as long as the HV leads are securely connected, it shouldn't be an issue to hang temporarily until your done adjusting your magnetics.

Chris Stevens used to move the hv splitter between tubes and leave it there permanently. He was a big-time Marquee guy who helped design some of the uber-marquee's that sold back in the day. Here's one of his installs:

HV is a DC voltage, which won't affect magnetics. A high AC voltage next to a tube MIGHT affect the magnetics..
