I recently bought V1000HD LCD Projector 1080p compatibility , but it is 800 X 600 native resolution. How will be movie look like? As same as LCD Tv? or worse?. If i will buy an external video scaler, can i watch movie in full HD 1080p without decompress? Also which screen is suitable for this projector? 1.8 gain or 1.1 ?

Does anyone bought this Verotronics V1000HD LCD projector? Please share your experience .

thanks

Babu,

I checked out the Verotronics site, and it's more than a little suspect. The phone number on the contact page also comes back to a payday check-cashing establishment in Utah! Where did you come by the projector?

Regardless, I have to say I'm a little surprised anybody is still selling a projector like this for that kind of money, other than to rip people off. $799 is WAY too much money for an SVGA projector... For the same money, you find a good name-brand 720p DLP or LCD projector that would actually display HD. A projector in this class, from a no-name manufacturer is probably worth in the $300 ballpark.

Now, I don't know if the V1000HD is any good, but the problem with an 800x600 display is that when you run it with a widescreen source like Blu-ray, the resulting image resolution is only 800x450... Which happens to be barely any better than standard definition DVD resolution. It doesn't matter whether you feed it with a scaler, computer, Blu-ray... Whatever... Feed it 1080i, 1080p, 720p, or even SD DVD - and the final picture is going to look pretty close to the same... All about like standard definition. So, definitely worse than the average LCD TV.

Screen... You'll probably want something in the 1.0-1.3 gain ballpark.

If I were you, I'd get rid of that projector and buy a used 720p projector. You should be able to find a 720p projector for around $500 that will be superior in probably every way.

I would try using the component inputs at 1080i or even 480p. This is NOT a true 1080p projector, so chances are a 1080p input won't work.

Sorry, I have no idea, I don't know the projector. Follow the instruction manual, and if you get nothing, I'd contact the manufacturer to get warranty repair.

Babu,

When you fire up the projector, irrespective of source or connection, do you get a blue or white screen, or setup menus or anything?

Babu,

I can't find anything about this machine to even try to help you. This is the problem with buying a piece like this from a fly-by-night company selling low-end junk (no disrespect intended, of course). But, you get no manual online, no support, and no way to get help from anybody because nobody else has anything like it.

I'll recommend the same thing I recommended before: Sell the projector for whatever you can get out of it and buy a 5-year old XGA or even 720p digital from Videogon, or craigslist if you're in a metro area and you can go check it out and buy it in person. You can buy nice 720p HD single-chip DLP's from 4 years ago now for $300 all day long.

Sorry, but nobody will probably be able to help you with that projector.
