Hello to all. Am new to projectors and am looking for my first one. From what I've read
it seems like people like NEC, Electrohome Marquee, and Sony. I have a crt television and love its
picture. I can just imagine what a nice projector would like like. Happiness to all.

Barcos as well. It all depends on your budget and grade of projector you want to start out with. Certainly read up on Curt's CRT primer. Welcome to the club!

Welcome, mcintoshman!
Everybody has their favorites, and each brand and model his its pluses and minuses. Which one you choose will be a function of the source(s) you want to use, your desired screen size and performance level, and of course, budget.
But, start doing lots of reading, tell us what your goals are and what your rough budget is, and we can help you start narrowing down the field.

Your location would be a good thing to know. You might find someone close to you that might have one they could donate or maybe help you find one.
