I hung a Runco DTV-947 about 6 months ago in place of the XG-75 that I was using. I haven't had a problem with it until recently. We run it at 720p through a HDFury2. One night while watching a movie, the green went out of alignment towards the bottom of the image. I went to reconverge/set up again the next day and couldn't get the eye-q to work. I focused, aligned, and did the basic geometry so that it could learn reference. The eye-q diagnostics were a pass, but I could not get the full setup to work. After some trial and error, I gave up and converged manually. Then I turned the projector off. When I turned it back on the red was shifted. I manually fixed that so that we could watch our movie. The next day- same problem red out of alignment, so I ran the auto setup via eye-q, and it worked. Odd yes? Now everytime I turn the projector off and back on, the red is out of alignment. If I run the touch up option under the eye-q menu, it aligns again, but I'm always back to square one the next time I use the projector. Do I need to save the settings to a memory block like on the XG? If so, how do I do this?

Are you using the genlocked test pattern when you're doing it manually? Try that, back out of the convrgence, and see if it fails again. It could be a controller board issue, I can't see it being a convergence board issue.

OK, all I can guess is that the CPU board (controller board) has a glitch on it. Rare but possible. I can repair it here if you want. If the convergence board were bad, I'd say you wouldn't be able to converge a section at all.
You can try to tap on the convergence driver board with a plastic object, and see if the convergence changes at all. It should be rock solid.

I guess I can't use a wet towel to tap it with, right? I'll give it a try over the weekend.

I always experience convergence issues with my Barco 500 Data. Usually either/both the RED/BLUE will drift slightly if it's not been used for a while.
Could do with an Auto-convergence plug-in, sure I read there is such a unit available; if so it would save me the hassle of aligning the grids each use.
I might try removing the convergence tray and seeing how drastic the alignment is as I've often wondered if I'm stressing the guns. Although I used the Install Setup process I had to physically align my guns as UPS delivered mine using them as handles
