Some time back I had mentioned a test procedure I would make available for anyone interested in my VIM only (very latest) mod upgrade. This test would determine if your neck boards are at their best performance. The test would check for bandwidth, temperature stability and G1 Cathode equalization.
I had also mentioned that I'm no longer doing the neck boards, and if the neck boards needed REPAIRS to correct these problems, that I would make it so that Curt would have everything needed to repair the boards.
So if any boards would need repairing, they would need to go to Curt.
In this repair, I'll also include a much needed parts upgrade for the neck boards. These parts would greatly improve the performance of any Marquee neck board, because it also corrects a common performance failing component. And because of these upgrades, I don't really consider the repair a mod.
The repair would be giving to Curt only - so don't bother to send me PM's and emails letting me know how well you can solder. And don't contact me about pricing, that's completely up to Curt. Once i turn it over to him, it's all up to him.
I've also mentioned that in my Marquee the neck boards are nearly stock boards... that's right, I don't have modified neck boards in my Marquee. they are upgraded neck boards. If you have modified neck boards, don't worry about going after the repair/upgrade version.
At present I have a Super 03 VIM in my Marquee. I'm using the upgraded neck boards, Moome V2 feed with a Lumagen Radiance processor. My source is a Sony Blu ray at 1080P 24hz out into the lumagen. the Lumagen is putting out:
1920x1080P 72hz into the moome card. So my setup is now operating at 1080P 72hz with this video chain.
The following two screenshots shows how well the REPAIRED/UPGRADED neck boards perform.
1920x1080P @ 72hz
--------------
Now to be clear, I'm no longer doing neck board mods. I'll only be offering a VIM only mod from now on.
I'll be announcing the VIM only mod soon...
So look for the test in a week or so. And from the test it should provide good test markers to show where your boards are performance wise. And even without going for the VIM only mod, the neck board repair/upgrade should be a must for anyone wanted the best performance from their Marquee.
