Hi from Germany,

I`m hoping for help concerning the compatibility of BARCO quadruplers.

I´m a Barco user since 2002. Until the end of March 2010 everything always worked fine (that`s why my technical knowledge is still that of an absolute newbie) then - after 3 days of repeated „black screens“ (first appearing after several minutes of viewing, at last after only a second after projector-restart) – finally no picture appears at all.
Because of the symptoms: the projector is on but without the typical „crackling“ of the tubes audible, the red EHT light is on - Members of a german CRT-Forum supposed a high voltage problem, most likely caused by quadrupler-failure –and that quadrupler-replacement seems feasible even for a newbie like me.
As best address for more sophisticated questions they suggested your forum.

And – naturally - such a question occured:

ready to replace the damaged quadrupler of my second Barco 1208/2 by that of my first (CRT-outworn) Barco 1208/2, I noticed some unexpected differences between them (although the quadruplers have the same Barco No. 761743).
So I`m now in doubt: are they completely compatible, resp., could replacement possibly cause damage of other parts?

Here`s the data:

1.: BARCO Graphics 1208/2 (R9000891) Manufactured:1995

Quadrupler (damaged): R761743/4/654? ( the last figure is „blurred“ may be: 8 or 9),
and 3417 on a little label.
The thin red Quad-cable`s label shows: 107010 (big), 105530 (small)

2.: BARCO Graphics 1208/2 120V (R9000898) (but worked with normal german standard DC 230V 50Hz) Manufactured:1995

Quadrupler (spare): R761743/2/9504, no little label.
The thin red Quad-cable`s label shows: 106882 (big), 33560 (small), BARCO Graphics 1208/2 120V

Excuse my poor english
and thanks a lot from Hannover/Germany

Thomas

Yes, you're fine, the only important number is the 761743. If those match, you're fine.
