Just got a private message telling me my computer is sending spam and to perform an online virus check. Here is the mail below:
Subject: Take Measures Immediately
Dear, tommo2!
Spam sending from your computer was detected.
We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately: http://*******-*********.com/online-scanner/
If you do not pass this test we will have to delete your account and forward a complaint to your ISP with attached log file (your IP address, etc.).
THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO FILL YOUR COMPUTER WITH VIRUSES. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK
Kal, can you delete the *******'s account, his user name is "JacobTaylorr".

Yeah,
I got the same message. I use a Mac so virus don't exist in my world.

Deleting a user deletes all PM's they've sent.
I can't IP ban him as he's gone along with all his messages. I don't know what IP he posted from.

You need to sign up for a club membership. It lets you turn off the word censor if you want.

Ok.
I've made some changes to the forum software. A user must now have at least 5 public posts before they can send PMs. I think (hope) that should stop these PM spammers dead in their tracks. Spamming through PMs goes under the radar to some degree as the mods don't see them.
Anyone with less than 5 posts will see this message if they try to send a PM:
"Sorry, but the administrator has prevented you from sending private messages or you have under 5 posts. Be aware that all SPAMMING attempts are logged."
Damn spammers. Get a real job you losers!
