Sometimes you just don't have a truck handy...

Here's what I did today:

No picture's but we did a second run today in the same car. This time it was an RCA 53" RPTV, a Panasonic 13" CRT TV and a 17" IBM CRT monitor. Laughing

The TV in the first picture is a 61" ! Laughing

very red neck. Then again the guy that owns the car IS a red neck. Thumbs Up

By the way, they both work! So does the 13" Panasonic. I haven't tested the CRT monitor yet. Very Happy

Good lord - it must be terrible to try to get that heavy, awkward, out-of-date oversized relic around a corner!

...The TV's probably tough to move too.

I like that Caddy. But, unlike the 1969-17 versions, I bet that one had only a baby motor in it.

I like the car. I had a '78 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and I kept it up. For a long time it was the nicest condition car of its type in the area. Sometimes I still miss it, until I remember current gas prices. Very Happy

Your '87 is pretty much the same chassis with a few sheet metal changes. And the '78 had a 425 CID Cadillac motor in it, not a Chevy
350, and frankly I prefer the 425. SMOOTH POWER.

Those Cadillacs do have issues with the reliability of their electronics (Basically, they're not reliable after they get to be 10 years old)
but it's one car that will always get you home and you are in the best possible place to be if you must get into a wreck. You are well
protected but Dog help the guy who runs into that freight train!

Actually, the bumper shock absorption systems are designed exactly like the bumper systems on freight trains. Very stout shock
absorber systems are welded right into the ends of the very heavy gauge massive box tubing frame.

I'm not opposed to buying another Caddy of that kind. But it'd have to be a very nice example and I'd need to have a garage to store it in. Which I don't, not at this time.

It would be a weekend pleasure car, not a daily driver.

Though I disapprove of destroying Caddys, I will say that a Cadillac like that is a surefire winner in a demolition derby, that is, once
you move the battery into the trunk. Wink

There's no tougher car to kill. That frame is massive and massively strong.

A stock Cadillac like that doesn't warrant any such "pimp" or "mack daddy" comments. You have to move the car well away from a stock appearance before you can use those terms.

I personally find that type of Cadillac to be a very elegant and dignified looking car, when it's in good condition and in factory trim.
