i couldnt get my marquee to sync with a matrox parhelia. maybe a too low voltage output for the g70.
try a different graphics card.
ati radeon 4890 works perfect for me with powerstrip.

Check the sync settings on the G70...
INPUT SETTING -> SYNC SELECT -> (AUTO, SonG, H/C V)
If it isn't on AUTO, set it back and try it. If it already is, try forcing it to one of the other two choices.
Failing that, try a different RGBHV cable.

OK, let's work this out.
1) What resolution(s) have you tried from the PC?
2) Have you tried another PC yet to rule out funky driver sync settings (that the NEC and Sony are handling differently)?
3) Have you tried a different RGBHV cable, yet?
4) Have you tested the G70 with another source - YPrPb, perhaps?
Let's chat a little more, and we'll go from there.

Thanks ecrabb for taking the time to help. I have tried 1440x960 and 1024x768. I have not tried another pc. I will do that next. Also, what cable are you using ? I must order another cable and I want to order the right one. What source is YPrPb? is it hdtv?
Thanks again for the help.

I tried a different pc, no change. I will try to plug in my hdtv receiver and see what happens.
Thanks

ecrabb,
Do you use a htpc to link into your g70? If so, do you use powerstrip to sync into the g70?
Thanks

I haven't cabled a computer directly to my G70... My signal chain is:
Computer VGA out -> DB-15 to 5BNC -> Extron Crosspoint switcher -> 20' 5BNC to 5BNC -> G70
I do have PowerStrip on the Windows box I use regularly, but I really only used it to make some custom resolutions - not to force sync or anything. In fact, I've used my MacBook on the G70 successfully, too.
Yes, YPrPb is just component... So, HDTV receiver, DVD player, or game machine.
I'm a little suspicious of your input card, or something else in the projector at this point. Do menus and internal test patterns work fine when there's no source connected?
I'll be curious to see what happens when you connect a component source.

I run/ran my HTPC direct to my G70.
1) RGBHV direct (30ft. cable)
2) DVI >> IFB-DVI input card over (25ft. cable)
never had a sync issue with either all the way up to 1920x1080@72Hz.

ecrabb,
I connected my DVD player and had the same issues. Now I am looking for a input card. A small box with RGBHV inputs and a cable output to the IFB 40 came with the projectors. When I plug this in input A and B disappear leaving me with a switcher or video/svideo input choice. How do I make this work?
Thanks Quest
