OK, I just picked up a 8500, great tubes. I tested it out for a wile before I payed for it and everything ran fine. Took it home set it up and used it for a few hours. It worked flawlessly. That was yesterday. Tonight I turned it on and it came on no problem. However I noticed that the picture was a bit wobble and that the size would shrink a bit without me doing it. Anyway I reset it to my settings and it was fine. turned it off then turned it back on. It powered up and I can hear it except the signal but it would not project! Nothing at all! All three tubes stayed dark. I don't understand how they could all fail at one time. This thing was taken care of by the last owner. The diagnostics on the back is lit up red over h fail. I'm not sure what that is. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks

Disconnect from power. Remove the top cover. You will see two aluminum boxes between the CRTS which contain the focus board and the horizontal deflection module (HDM). The HDM is the one that has the larger connectors and cables coming out of it. Remove the
lid of the box the HDM is in, then carefully mark the cable connectors with a Sharpie to so you know both which is which and which way they're oriented (the plugs can be reversed, deliberately to change from front to rear projection or ceiling or floor mounting) and then disconnect the cables and then pull the board straight down (or up) out of its housing. Press on the daughter board (the smaller board
attached to the HDM) firmly with your thumbs, over the connectors that mate to the main board, and also press firmly on any ICs that
are socketed.
Reseat the whole board in its socket. Reconnect the cables. Be sure you get them right.
Then test the projector.
Reseating boards and connectors fixes a lot of issues. It's expected that it needs to be done once every so often.
