Hi all,

I am experiencing kind of a flickering since my brother's cat jumped into cables behind my PC (well I think that was the starting point).

Here is a youtube video to show you what is happening exactly (sorry for the poor quality):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXBJQaTP-QA

My setup:

PC with ati graphic cards (x1900xt and hd4850) + dvi>vga adaptators
Extron rgb202plus (with homemade db15/db9 cable)
Sony vph1252QM (linked to the extron with 5 bnc cables)

I had not used the projector for a while when I saw this issue, so I did not think directly to what happened with the cat.

I have checked:

-projector without using extron box, by connecting bnc cables directly to the vga output of my pc (works, so PJ and bnc cables are ok)
-other sources (2nd pc and standalone dvd player with vga output) + extron box: same problem as shown on the video

So it may be either my homemade cable which could have been damadged by the cat, or the extron box (the box is located in another room, so the cat could not have made it fall by jumping into cables behind the pc).

Looking at the video (I could not see that with naked eye) I seems sync signal is mixed with blue signal (do you have the same conclusion ?) I am going to build another cable ( Evil or Very Mad ), but do you think the extron box could have been damaged ?

When I had a closer look at my homemade cable (I have used a vga cable where I have soldered db15 and db9 connectors) I saw an unsoldered cable (blue signal) which may have gone into contact with other pins around. So I have repaired this but the problem is still there.

Do you think this unsoldered cable may have damaged the extron box if it has gone into contact with other pins ?

I have built another db9>db15 yesterday but the issue is still there Sad

Also, while I was building the new cable, I saw the previous one had a wrong pinout. I probably have made a blind repair one day (as the cable was working earlier), ground was picked at pin 4 of the db15 (Monitor ID bit 2) instead of 5 or 10. Well, pin 4 is an input pin if I am right, so I guess this couldn't have caused any damage to the extron. Now, even with the correct pinout of the new cable the issue remains...

I have also checked the extron power supply. It should output 15VAC but I only measure 6.5VAC. Could it be the problem ? Any other idea ?
