|
|
I can't view regular composite video thru the video BNC input. I'm using a Toshiba SDK990 as the video source from the RCA video out jack. Inside the PG6 in the video board shield there is a half height board nearest the hinge, which I understand is the video input board. Any ideas?
The ultimate goal is to verify that this PG6 works, and to buy a HDfury. Then, I can use the HDMI output from the DVD player, upconvert to 720p, and drive the RGBHV inputs on the PG6. Thus, I actually need to verify that the RGBHV input works.
I used the YPbPr output from the DVD player to see the PG6 work. I plugged the green Y RCA from the DVD player into the green BNC on the PG6. I pressed "play" and did a signal entry. I choose the default data. I see no image at all. The PG6 text bumps gently up and down every second. The info page on the signal entry says 15.01 kHz H, 31.80 hz V. Sync detect auto, GSYNC. Any ideas?
Help! I'm stuck. Have I configured the signal input properly? Is there a hardware problem? The remote has a PIC MUTE button, but this does nothing when I press it. I have an Oscilloscope. Is there a place in the PG6 where I should check for a signal? Are there mechanical relays in the PG6 that may need to be cleaned?

New diagnostic info: when I do the signal input for the (Y to RGB G), for a few seconds there is an unconverged line at the top of the screen. The red and blue lines are solid, and the green line varies in intensity. Then this line disappears, and there is no image.
