After reading some of the posts about the new 3D coming out, I wondered if somehow this could be made to work with a blended setup. At http://hdguru3d.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=96:an-3d-hdtv-primer-part-1
it explains that the new 3D BD players will have 2 fields of 1080P stored at 24fps and that the new 3D capable displays will show them at either 120 hz or 240 hz.
While 1080P at 120hz is beyond what our crt's can handle, a blend with each projector seeing just 817X1064 can handle a 120 hz refresh rate!
The info given does not tell whether the 3D BD player will output 1080P @48 and let the 3D compatible displays convert it to 120 hz; or if the players will output at 120 hz. I would doubt that HDMI can handle 120 hz, let alone 240 hz.
If it does output 48 hz, then the TVOne's can accept that rate and it might work. If it outputs at 120, then it can't handle the signal.
The only other issue I can see is the IR or RF synch signal that operates the viewing glasses. Don't know how this can be handled!
I can't imagine how good 3D could look on a blended setup, but I'm getting excited thinking about the possibility. There should be more info on the specifics of how this 3D will work coming out in a week or two - It will be interesting.

It is designed for a single projector/flat panel and it is supposed to operate off of one hdmi cable. I think they run two separate 1080P pictures that alternate every 1/120 of a second and the special glasses change polarity to match the timing such that each eye only sees one of the two images, creating the third dimension. As long as the 3D BD player outputs only 1080P @ 48 (two separate 1080P's at 24) and Moome can handle it and deal with the HDCP, it should work fine.
Also notice that they chose refresh rates to match video instead of film, so they will still be using a 3:2 pulldown.

Guys!
I can't get excited about CRT 3D for home use, having worked with it commercially. First, the projectors will need P43 fast green tubes, light loss around 20 % compared to standard green. The shutter goggles will cut light another 20 % and have a yellow cast to them. Those of us wearing regular eyeglasses will find the shutter goggles quite uncomfortable after a few minutes. I'll pass, thanks.

Tim - Good to hear from you! If the consumer market is getting ready to use LCD and Plasma panels for 3D, then I don't think we need to worry about speed as they arn't any faster than our projectors, especially the LCD's.
As for the yellowish cast, if they have not fixed that issue, then I don't want it, but I'll wait to see what happens when they hit the market for sure!
