|
|
Hey Guys,
I've just started on a ground up setup for my 1292, and have hit the first stumbling block. I'm trying to align the r and b tubes to the green. My problem is the manual doesn't exactly explain how to do this.
For relevant pages see p20 of the install or service manual.
The instruction say to loosen the CRT fixing screws (is this both of them? The hex nuts to the left and right of the lens.) As there is only one in the diagram.
Secondly, my assembly looks different, I have an additional black Philips screw above the hexnut.
Next the instructions say to stick your screwdriver into the hole corresponding to your screen size, turning the screwdriver will then move the image.
Firstly, I don't like blindly sticking my screwdriver into a running projector Additionally, when I plucked up the courage, it didn't seem to mesh with anything under the hole. I can partially see under the hole, and doesn't look like there is anything to connect with under there.
Am I missing something, or are the setup instructions wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Brad.

Hi Brad, lots of Sony guys will chime in for sure but just to clarify your trying to align convergence, not conversion. Conversion is when you try to convince someone to join your Religion, which i guess CRT is sort of like anyway

Hi Brad,
Not the best adjustment method but is does work. Loosen the philips screw and the two hex bolts holding the tube assembly. Loosening the hex bolts allows the tube assembly to move freely. Insert a small philips screwdriver into the alignment holes to pry with. There are three holes, use the hole that when you look into it there is a misalignment.

That did it. Loosening the 3 screws got the gun turning.
Cheers!
Brad
