I am looking to add component video sources to my Electrohome ECP projectors (3101 and a 4100). I am new to the CRT world and am truly loving learning from the forums here and the support/advice has been top notch! I understand that these are not the greatest projectors out there however I would like to get the best possible picture out of them while I continue to learn, eventually as funds permit I plan on upgrading to one of Curt's 9" models. I am overwhelmed with choices for converting component to RGBVH. Funds are a concern at this point in time and I am wondering if anyone out there has experience with the ECP's and component video and could recommend a product that won't break the bank but will give me the best possible bang for the buck. I do not have enough experience with CRT's to know what resolution (i.e 720p,1080i) yields the best home theater experience on these older ECP's. Any advice is always greatly appreciated!

If you can live without gamma correction, I have a few component to VGA converters left that I can sell at a half price. They are exchange units and will be fully tested and will carry the full warranty.

Hi Kim,
I really appreciate your reply! I honestly do not know enough about gamma correction to know what the impact on the picture quality of the older ES focusing ECP's would be? Is this something I should be looking for? Don't get me wrong my projectors are what they are entry level and i'm not expecting stellar picture out of them. I am interested in maximizing their potential on a tight budget. I hope that doesn't sound too much like an oxy-moron, I am sure there are some key features I should be looking for however I just don't know what those are. Would gamma correction make much of an impact on my older CRT's? I see a dramatic difference in the links attached to your sig would a difference like that be evident in the ECP's as well?
