Hi,

I am using the Faroudja DVP1010 as video receiver for DVD player and Xbox, I am interested in HDfury3 so that I can use HDMI instead of component inputs, my projector is Sony G70 connects to Faroudja DVP1010 output.

Can I connect HDfury3 to my Faroudja DVP1010 instead of connecting to my G70?

thanks

If the Faroudja has an RGB passthrough, and I think it does, then no problem. The passthrough input bypasses all the functions within the Faroudja, and simply couples the input to the output.

You can then use the Faroudja for things like old video games, laser discs and VHS machine upscaling, otherwise you can pull the Faroudja right out, and couple the output of the Fury3 to the BNC cables that go to the Sony.

Thanks a lot. I reason I want to keep the Faroudja is mainly becuase the G70 is mounted on the ceiling, and Faroudja is in a rack, and the distance between them is more than 60 feet. I concern if I pull Faroudja out, can HDFury3 drive that long range to G70.

I read the FAQ and it says HDFury2 can drive ~20 feet before losing quality, is this the case?

Thanks

I would indeed use the Faroudja as a buffer to drive that long of a cable, OTOH a cheap much smaller Extron 202 box will do the same thing.

What resolution do you intend to send from the HDFury3? What type of cables do you have in your 60 foot run?
