A good friend of mine sells Runco P/J's the new digital ones. So Runco sends him customer repair requests on some of their older units to trouble shoot in the field. He was called on to look at as described by the customer as" an old runco 3 bulb job". My friend knows about my new hobby and asks me is their anyone you know that might be able to help me with what I guess is like your machine the CRT? And then asks me if I could look at it with him.
My first comment was well what model is it and what size tubes does it have so I can look it up. Oh hell the guy doesn't know it was in the house when he bought it 8 years ago and it didn't work right then and has been out of use for many years. Is it worth fixing he asks? Hell I don't know, if it's a 9" yes, anything less I'd really wonder.
Well ok next week can you come out to this guy's place? In what turns out to be the nicest area around me with multi-Million dollar homes
I hope it's a 9" inch DTV 1200 and the guy just says, just haul it down and get rid of it , I want a new digital Runco that works
But if not I may ask some questions to keep it going

It's probably going to be a Runco rebranded NEC. Hmmm let's put a bet on it. I say it's a Runco 900.
Gentlemen place your bet's.

I think a scaler was mentioned too. Ante up boys
Also The guy who owns the CRT was mentioning LED as a replacement, at $14K

And that's just the cost of the LED bulb from Runco. Want the projector too, and it's substantially more.
