Cheaper to get it for xbox 360 than rebuild your pc. Smile I wouldn't want to junk up my htpc with video games.

You know, I am thinking of getting L4D2 for the Xbox. Only problem is the reviews are recommending the PC version because the 360 graphics engine cannot produce sufficient framerates.

Now, how would I expect the 360 to perform fo a more challenging game?

I haven't checked out L4d2 (just dl'd the demo the other night) but I looked at comparisons of dragon age vs pc and the 360 actually looked better in most cases.

Well, if it isn't all that video processing intensive then I would say that isn't a surprise.

But when you have a game developed to take advantage of 'todays' most powerful video processing engines then you are looking at a three year old graphics engine in the 360.

And I've heard plenty of [blind] folks claim something looked better, but I am not picking on that aspect. Folks buying HDTVs and sitting so far back they cannot resolve anywhere near HDTV resolutions will claim it looks better. Sure, to analog NTSC.

Here's the system requirements for Dragon Age;
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Processor or equivalent RAM: 4 GB (Vista) or 2 GB (XP) VIDEO: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater
NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater
AMD Phenom II X3 Triple-Core 2.8 GHz or greater

Here's the side-by-side comparison, make of it what you want;

So, you point is that because one game looks better on the 360 than a PC that another game must somehow being out of line, lying, or something absurd? If Dragon Age looks better on the 360 AND I were interested in playing it I'd no doubt play it on the 360. I am no longer a platform loyalist. But, if I am looking for the best presentation in a game I am interested in, and that required something more than what a console could provide then I am ok with that condition, too.

Mind you, when you buy into a console platform you buy into a fixed hardware generation for 4-5 years. I guess expecting games to evolve the graphics departments at that rate is good for someone (you?), but undoubtedly not for everyone.
